About Press Bureau
How Press Bureau covers Indian bureaucracy, governance, policy and public administration.
Press Bureau is an independent news desk covering the Indian civil services and the machinery of government. We report on the work of the Union and state governments, public administration, policy, appointments, and the institutions that citizens interact with most often.
What we cover
- Civil services and appointments — recruitment, transfers, cadre policies and personnel decisions across the IAS, IPS and allied services.
- Policy and governance — cabinet decisions, scheme design, legislative and regulatory change, and the paperwork behind them.
- UPSC and competitive examinations — notifications, schedules, answer keys and official corrigenda.
- States and districts — state-level developments that carry national significance.
How we work
We publish material drawn from official sources — press releases, gazette notifications, orders and court records — and attribute each claim to the body that made it. Where an official statement is reproduced, we say so plainly rather than presenting it as independent verification.
Corrections are made openly. When we get something wrong and it matters, we correct the article and note the change.
