New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has sanctioned multiple significant bureaucratic appointments, tenure extensions, and repatriation decisions involving senior officials from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Statistical Service (ISS), along with other central services.



The decisions cover the appointment of two IPS officers as Joint Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), extensions of deputation terms for senior officials, and revisions in important government assignments.



Atul Kumar Thakur Appointed as Joint Director in CBI

Atul Kumar Thakur (IPS: 2008: AGMUT), presently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the CBI, has been elevated to the post of Joint Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).



As per the ACC approval, his appointment is for a total tenure of seven years, with the term continuing until November 24, 2028.



Pankaj Kumar Singh Gets Appointment as Joint Director, CBI

Pankaj Kumar Singh (IPS: 2008: AGMUT), who is also serving as a DIG in CBI, has been appointed as Joint Director in the investigation agency.



 



Rahul Kumar will serve in the position up to February 6, 2030.



Krishna Kumar Tiwari’s Tenure as Election Commission Director Extended

The tenure of Krishna Kumar Tiwari (ISS: 2011), serving as Director in the Election Commission of India, has been extended for another two years.



His extended tenure will continue beyond September 30, 2026, up to September 30, 2028.



Tiwari has been on central deputation since October 1, 2021.



Defence Ministry Director Sanap Bajirao Ramnath Gets Extension

The ACC has also approved the extension of Sanap Bajirao Ramnath (IP&TAFS: 2011), currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Defence.



His tenure has been extended for two years beyond September 22, 2026, and he will continue in the post until September 22, 2028.



He has been on central deputation since September 23, 2021.



Anshu Manish Khalkho Repatriated to Parent Cadre

The ACC has approved the premature repatriation of Anshu Manish Khalkho (IDAS: 1994), who was serving as Director (Administration & Finance) at National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.



He has been sent back to his parent cadre with an extended cooling-off condition.



SVPNPA Deputy Director Post Upgraded for M Tamilvanan

The ACC has temporarily upgraded the post of Deputy Director at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), held by M Tamilvanan (IPS: 2008: Jharkhand cadre).



The post has been upgraded to the level of Joint Director for an initial period of two years.



ACC Approves Multiple Senior-Level Administrative Changes

The latest ACC decisions cover important appointments and extensions across key government departments and organizations, including the CBI, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Election Commission of India, Ministry of Defence, NHIDCL, and SVPNPA.



These administrative changes are aimed at ensuring continuity in leadership and strengthening governance across critical institutions.
