UPEIDA’s Proposal to Develop 11 Additional Expressways by 2029
The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is working on an extensive strategy to construct 11 additional expressways by 2029.
The enlarged highway network is projected to:

Reinforce industrial and logistics networks
Encourage real estate expansion near major corridors
Increase road safety and cargo movement efficiency

Delhi–Meerut RRTS to Strengthen Connectivity with Western Uttar Pradesh
The 82-km Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), featuring trains running at speeds up to 160 km/h, is expected to sharply cut travel duration between Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh.
The corridor will improve routine commuting, encourage business travel and deepen regional economic connectivity.
Delhi–Varanasi Bullet Train to Reduce Travel Time to Below Three Hours
The planned 958-km Delhi–Varanasi High-Speed Rail Corridor is likely to revolutionize long-distance transportation in North India.
Engineered for speeds of 320–360 km/h, the route may shorten travel time between Delhi and Varanasi to under three hours, while linking several major cities across Uttar Pradesh.
The project is anticipated to promote tourism, commerce and urban growth along the alignment.
Metro Network Expansion in Lucknow, Kanpur and Agra
Urban mobility infrastructure is progressing rapidly with metro expansion projects underway in Lucknow, Kanpur and Agra.
The metro systems are expected to:
Ease traffic congestion
Enhance everyday commuting
Reduce pollution levels
Upgrade public transportation infrastructure

Noida Film City and Renewable Energy Initiatives
Noida International Film City
Spanning 780 acres near the Yamuna Expressway, the planned film city in Noida is intended to emerge as a major centre for media, entertainment and digital production.
The development is expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities and establish Uttar Pradesh as a preferred destination for the film and content creation sector.
Clean Energy Investments
The state is additionally investing in hydrogen facilities, solar power units and hydroelectric projects aimed at producing cleaner energy and generating an estimated 8,000 jobs, while lowering reliance on fossil fuels.

These landmark projects are drawing both domestic and global investments across infrastructure, manufacturing, logistics, real estate and technology sectors.
